houseHere at 101realestate we’re always looking for ways that our readers can improve their homes so your market value can increase when it comes to selling your home. There are a multitude of options you can do to increase the value of your home such as an extension on your home, these can included anything from a bathroom to extra bedrooms or perhaps even a conservatory. These are all fantastic options for improving the value of your home albeit they can be a little expensive.

Today we’ll focus on some options that won’t cost you an arm and leg but can help increase your homes value dramatically. We like to call it ‘curb appeal’ and here are some great tips on how you can increase the curb appeal of your home. As the old saying goes don’t judge a book by it’s cover, unfortunately in the real estate world this is definitely not the case and it’s more a case of first impressions last. As much as you’ll remember a good looking face and feel trusting towards it, the same applies to the exterior of your house, if it leaves a bad taste with a potential buyer then chances are you will not be selling your property.

Follow these tips to increase your curb appeal.

  • It all starts at the roots which essentially will be online. Remember that people looking to buy homes will pre-dominately be searching online which is why it’s essential the exterior of your property if portrayed in just the way you want it to be. You can hire a professional photographer to take just the right photos of your home which you can then use to promote it online.
  • Act like a buyer and take a tour of your own home, it’s important to leave emotions aside here and do this with an open mind. Imagine it was yourself buying your own home and be as critical as possible when doing the survey. You will find things in this process which can be changed or spruced up.
  • The roofing on your home is incredibly important; after all it is what protects all of your family and the valuable assets in your home. Is the roof in a state of disrepair? If so, it’s probably a good idea to get some professionals in who can fix it for you prior to selling. Often it may just need a new paint job or sealing and once done this can add some great value to your home.

We hope these tips have helped you increase your curb appeal on your home.  If you would like to find out more about this process and some other outstanding advice from a realtor then please visit where you can find a wealth of information on home renovations.  You can also read more about the local property market here and of course if you have any real estate related questions then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with one of the team who will be more than happy to help you out.
